Bobo's Oat Bars Review

Anyone that knows me, knows I truly love and  appreciate homemade projects and food goodies. When we started on our non-toxic, all natural and organic journey, I had wondered what I would do when it comes to fulfilling my love for baking. I haven't been able to revamp my recipes entirely (haven't wanted to turn my oven on much this summer, either!) but I'll be baking a lot this fall, and I plan on using organic/whole/natural ingredients in place of the regular ones in my old recipes.

Until I start to bake again, I've been on the hunt for organic goodies. I found one company, Bobo's Oat Bars, and luckily for the NTH Family, we were able to try out 4 of their delicious flavors cocont, maple pecan, peach and cinnamon raisin.

http://bobosoatbars.com/

What Makes Bobo's So Special? The bars are homemade, for starters! Also, they are:
(pay attention to the packaging on each flavor to see what all is happenin' about that flavor!)

Made with Organic Ingredients
Vegan
Non-GMO
Gluten Free
Wheat Free
All Natural

Looking for Gluten Free? NTH recommends the Peach and Maple Pecan!

We were given 4 different flavors to try, and each one was simply delicious and delivered more than I had expected.

Mr. NTH loves maple flavors, and this oat bar didn't disappoint. The texture is soft and very reminiscent of freshly baked homemade treats (this can be said for all of the bars we tried).

There were pecan pieces in the oat bar, but they were on the small side and not very memorable as far as texture goes. The flavor, well the flavor was just right!

Ingredients: Organic Gluten Free Rolled Oats, Brown Rice Syrup (Brown Rice, Filtered Water), Earth Balance® [Natural Oil Blend (Palm Fruit, Canola and Olive Oils), Filtered Water, Pure Salt, Natural Flavor (Derived from Corn, No MSG, No Alcohol, No Gluten), Sunflower Lecithin, Lactic Acid (Non-Dairy, Derived from Sugar Beets) and Colored with Annatto Extract], Organic Sucanat (Non-Refined Cane Sugar), Pecans, Natural Maple Extract, Xanthan Gum. Contains Pecans. May Contain Traces of Tree Nuts and Peanuts.

The Cinnamon Raisin Bobo's Oat Bar has whole, plump raisins in the bar that you can see right through the package. Which is great, because I LOVE raisins. I like adding them to trail mix and snacking on them alone. These bars are wheat free and vegan, but I think anyone would enjoy these!

The cinnamon flavor is perfect, and reminds me of a homemade baked mini loaf..although on the crumbly/oat bar side of life. :) The cinnamon and raisins used are both organic.

Ingredients: Organic Rolled Oats, Brown Rice Syrup (Brown Rice, Filtered Water), Earth Balance® [Natural Oil Blend (Palm Fruit, Canola and Olive Oils), Filtered Water, Pure Salt, Natural Flavor (Derived from Corn, No MSG, No Alcohol, No Gluten), Sunflower Lecithin, Lactic Acid (Non-Dairy, Derived from Sugar Beets) and Colored with Annatto Extract], Organic Sucanat (Non-Refined Cane Sugar), Organic Ground Cinnamon, Organic Raisins, Xanthan Gum. May Contain Traces of Tree Nuts and Peanuts.

I love all things coconut. I love the smell of coconut, the flavor, the benefits of whole coconuts (coconut water, oil, milk, etc.) and I just love the texture of coconut. The coconut pieces in the bar aren't huge, rather they are fine, slivers of coconut. Perfect.

As soon as I opened the package, I was hit with this intense, delicious smell. COCONUT!! I loved it before I ate it; true story. I took a small chunk off to try it out, perhaps in an effort to portion control OR perhaps to savor the bite. Still unsure, as I ate half the bar immediately. End of story? Amazing. Simply.

Ingredients: Organic Rolled Oats, Brown Rice Syrup (Brown Rice, Filtered Water), Earth Balance® [Natural Oil Blend (Palm Fruit, Canola and Olive Oils), Filtered Water, Pure Salt, Natural Flavor (Derived from Corn, No MSG, No Alcohol, No Gluten), Sunflower Lecithin, Lactic Acid (Non-Dairy, Derived from Sugar Beets) and Colored with Annatto Extract], Organic Sucanat (Non-Refined Cane Sugar), Organic Dried Coconut, Natural Coconut Flavor, Xanthan Gum. May Contain Traces of Tree Nuts and Peanuts.

Much like the Cinnamon Raisin Bar...

The Peach bar has big chunks of dried, Organic Peaches. You can see them right through the package, which is always exciting. I love to be able to see what I'm eating, before I eat it. As well as know exactly what's inside. I don't like mystery food (brings me back to elementary school cafeteria.. no thanks!)

The peach bar was delicious. Simply delicious. It reminded me of a homemade peach oat muffin. It smelled so fruity. The Peach bar is our recommended GF bar, but it is also Non-GMO and Vegan.

Ingredients: Organic Gluten Free Rolled Oats, Brown Rice Syrup (Brown Rice, Filtered Water), Earth Balance® [Natural Oil Blend (Palm Fruit, Canola and Olive Oils), Filtered Water, Pure Salt, Natural Flavor (Derived from Corn, No MSG, No Alcohol, No Gluten), Sunflower Lecithin, Lactic Acid (Non-Dairy, Derived from Sugar Beets) and Colored with Annatto Extract], Organic Sucanat (Non-Refined Cane Sugar), Dried Peaches, Natural Peach Extract, Xanthan Gum. May Contain Traces of Tree Nuts and Peanuts.

All of the bars are flavored naturally, and contain organic ingredients. They are each handmade with love, and they smell, look and taste that way. I found these bars to be completely filling! Each bar is actually two servings, which makes them perfect for sharing between my two kids. Even half of one bar held me over for a while. Must be all those oats!

I would recommend any of these bars. Cut one in half and wrap it up for a snack-time treat for your child. Or stick one in a lunchbox, they travel well!

I NEED to get my hands on a Peanut Butter Bobo's Oat Bar :) We love peanut butter here, and I just can't go without one, knowing they make them!

  14. Hello! I understand this is somewhat off-topic but I needed to ask.
Does managing a well-established blog such as
yours require a lot of work? I am brand new to operating a blog but I do write in my diary every day.
I'd like to start a blog so I can share my experience and feelings online. Please let me know if you have any ideas or tips for new aspiring blog owners. Thankyou!

  15. Unquestionably believe that which you stated.
Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of.

I say to you, I definitely get irked while people consider worries that
they plainly don't know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
